Kassons Castings can design and implement a maintenance program specific to your needs.
Companies, organizations, and private individuals contract with us to provide scheduled
maintenance to their collections of art for many reasons. By allowing us to take your sculpture into
our care we are able to monitor its condition and react accordingly. The effects of pollution, human
contact, UV light, age, failed wax or lacquer coatings, vandalism, etc.. all play a significant role in
the way a bronze and its patina age. Recognizing and dealing with these effects greatly extends
the life of a bronzes patina and overall appearance. Through proper maintenance
the life of a patina can be extended, and a full out patina restoration can be prevented.
Preventative maintenance adds longevity and keeps a piece looking its best.
It is not our intent, and rarely is it the wish of our clients to "rewind the hands of time"
as related to the condition of a bronze. As related to maintenance - our focus and
scope is to neutralize, protect, and maintain. We are successful when the application
of our work does not disguise the history of a piece - it merely serves as an accent to
something that is already great. When a bronze is placed in our care we walk with it
"hand in hand" - and help it to age with grace.

An awareness of maintenance requirements - increase/improves the longevity, integrity, and
appearance of a piece of sculpture. The responsibility of maintaining sculpture gives us a
sense of pride. We are honored to be caretakers of items that in many cases have seen a bit
of history and will continue to be enjoyed when we are gone. It is an honor to play a role in
the longevity of a well cared for bronze.
Please call or email to discuss the implementation of a scheduled maintenance program. We
would be happy to assess the condition of your piece or collection and provide a
recommendation report.
